2004 ESSENTIALS

In the last two E-Newsletters I have shared THE DREAM and THE PRIORITIES of our church in 2004.  In this edition I want to share 3 ESSENTIALS for the dream to become reality.

1.  COUNT ON GOD TO WORK

Well, do you?  Are you counting on God to work in your life…your family…your unsaved friend’s lives…our church?  In John 5:17 Jesus says, “My Father never stops working,

so why should I?” (NLT)

God IS working – let’s join Him!  Currently, I am counting on God to work greatly during the season of EASTER and during our June 7th-11th BACKYARD BIBLE CLUBS & BLOCK PARTIES.  Will you join me?

2.  CONCENTRATE ON TEAMWORK

TEAMWORK defined the way of life for the church in Acts 2.  As the church, they were…

…studying and learning TOGETHER

…sharing, caring, eating and meeting TOGETHER

…remembering, celebrating and honoring Christ TOGETHER

…praying and communing with God TOGETHER

…reaching out to and welcoming in people TOGETHER

EASTER TEAMWORK means that you and I…

…pray for and invite a non-churched friend to church on Easter Sunday

…pray for and invite a neighbor to the “Experience the Passion of Christ” at our new Life Group series

BACKYARD BIBLE CLUB & BLOCK PARTY TEAMWORK shows that we have committed to take the love of Christ back to the streets and into the neighborhoods June 7 – 11.  TEAMWORK happens when you…

…offer to host a club in your neighborhood

…sign up to help with a club or in the preparations necessary

…sign up to with a Friday night Block Party for kids and adults

3.  CELEBRATE CHANGE

Acts 2:43 says, “A deep sense of awe came over them all…” (NLT)

Joining God and working together as a team will require some changes…in your heart…in your schedule…in your life.  However, the change that Jesus brings is worth it!  I’m counting on God to bring wonderful, liberating, unifying and contagious change in 2004.

So, let’s COUNT ON GOD, CONCENTRATE ON TEAMWORK and

CELEBRATE LIFE-CHANGE TOGETHER!

- Mike

Worship & Arts

Learning to Listen

On Sunday morning, March 7, Crosspointe participated in a very “different” kind of worship service format. Several prayer stations were set up around the room, and worshipers were able to “experience” first-hand the message for the day. I want to thank the Worship and Arts Planning Team (WArPT) for diligently seeking the Lord’s direction for this service, and for boldly stepping out and taking a risk. I know the service was a tremendous blessing to me and to others. I hope that you, too, experienced the Lord in a powerful way!

Worship and Arts Spring Conference

We held our first ever ministry-wide Conference on Saturday, March 6. This gathering consisted of 20+ persons from each W&A ministry: Music, A/V, Host and Drama. The conference was planned by both the Worship and Arts Leadership Team (WALT) and WArPT. Time was allotted to discuss the vision of where we are headed as a ministry and the role of each individual team in the “big picture.”  If you were unable to attend, please contact your ministry team leader for details of the conference.

CURRENT SERMON SERIES:

“Christ’s Passion for You”

Sundays at 10:45 a.m.

APR 11:  Easter: The Rest of the Story

After seeing “The Passion of Christ,” one person put it like this, “I was in a state of dis-equilibrium.  I was disturbed, drained and wrung out.”  Now the questions come.  “Why did it have to happen like that? What difference does the passion of Jesus make for me today?”  This Easter message will provide answers.

APR 18:  His Love, My Pleasure

Being loved is a wonderful thing.  Being loved perfectly is life-changing!  This message will explore how God responds to your acceptance or rejection of His passionate and perfect love.

APR 25:  His Promises, My Peace

“Can I trust you?” Trust takes time to build and a track record of integrity to solidify it. Ultimately everything you say and do is a reflection of what you believe to be true about God. “Do I trust His promises?” This message will challenge you to reflect on the character of God.

MAY 2:  His Forgiveness, My Part

Forgiveness is one of the most important transactions in life.  But what does it really mean?  What really happens when you forgive…when you’re forgiven?  This message will help you understand your part in receiving and offering genuine forgiveness.

Life Groups

Q.    How are new groups formed?

Central to the purpose of each Life Group is the ultimate creation of a new group (birthing). Each group reproducing itself lays the foundation for exponential growth and relational assimilation of all that God would bring to Crosspointe.

Life Groups should plan to birth a new group after accomplishing the following:

The group has stayed together for a set amount of time, determined at the outset by the group members.

The group has developed necessary leadership to operate a new group or groups.

Groups are also formed during GROUP LINK GATHERINGS every three weeks immediately after the Sunday morning Worship Celebration.

The Passion Of The Christ

A Life Group Discussion Study
You’ve seen the movie about the Passion of Christ. Now find answers to your most pressing questions about the event that changed everything. The week following Easter many of our Life Groups will be embarking on a discussion oriented study that will explore questions like:

·          Who really killed Jesus?

·          What crime did Jesus commit?

·          Why did Jesus suffer and die?

·          What did the resurrection accomplish?

Whether you’re somewhat skeptical, already convinced or somewhere in between this study will engage you in life-changing discussion.  Find a Crosspointe Life Group today and connect with the church dispersed.  Click HERE for options!

CROSSPOINTE MEN
HELPING HANDS MINISTRY

WHAT IS HELPING HANDS?

At Crosspointe, the Helping Hands ministry is our way of reinvesting God’s gifts for the good of His Body. We believe that we were each uniquely shaped by God for a purpose, and that purpose is to serve!

The Helping Hands Ministry is the core men’s ministry of Crosspointe Community Church and exists to serve people as Christ served people: where their needs are.

Our focus in serving is primarily but not limited to the needs of …

*Single Mothers
*Widows
*The elderly

Our desire is to demonstrate the care and concern of Christ by meeting practical needs such as...

*Home Repair
*Yard Work
*Auto Maintenance
*General Assistance

How do I request assistance?

Our desire is to make the process of requesting assistance as simple as one phone call. The following men serve as Team Leaders for the Helping Hands Ministry and are waiting for your call. If a Team Leader is unavailable please leave a short message with your name and phone number and simply say, “I have a Helping Hands request.” You will receive a return call within 24 hours.

"MISSION UNSTOPPABLE"

*    Sunday, April 11 - EASTER SUNDAY - the children will be opening the morning service by singing "HEY GOD!" after which we will head back to The Corner for a Resurrection Party.  Make sure you're inviting friends to join you for this exciting day!
