ADVANCING THE KINGDOM
Sunday, June 26th, was a God-moment. I pray that
the commissioning and send-off service for Adam and Kim
Feldman will resonate in our hearts and minds. I am so
proud of Adam and Kim. They have demonstrated a love
and commitment to Christ that is contagious. I am also
proud of our Crosspointe family. You have demonstrated
a willingness to join God where He is at work and
trusted Him to provide. I know that God will be
glorified and people will experience the love of Jesus
through the church plant in Maryland.
STUDENT MINISTRY
I really appreciate Scott Feldman, Kathryn Lantz and the Y’ALL
Team members for the great leadership they are providing
for our student ministry. With Scott and Kathryn
leaving at summer’s end we are looking and praying for a
new staff member to lead this ministry. Those serving
on our Student Ministry Task Force are:
Cherie Chandler, Felicia Deese, Jeff Lantz, Rhonda
Lantz, Laura LeDuc, Steve Meadows, Scott Minear,
Christine Novack and Scott Sibley. These individuals
have agreed to lead the way in this search. However,
everyone in our church family is strongly encouraged to
participate in two ways: 1) pray and 2) search.
Pray that “the Lord of the harvest” will raise up and
identify the leader best for our church. You can also
help tremendously. Think through the people you know.
Do you know a possible candidate? Do you know someone
who could recommend a candidate? Please call one of the
Task Force members with any contact information.
TAKING THE “GOOD NEWS” TO NEIGHBORHOODS
How can we help people in our community know and experience the
love of Christ? Who does Jesus clearly command us to
invite and welcome into His Presence? The week of July
25 – 29 we will take the love of God to three
neighborhoods by reaching out to children. At Backyard
Bible Clubs (BYBC) children from each neighborhood will
participate in an exciting “club” experience from 9:30
am to 12:00 pm. Friday night the children and their
parents will be invited to a block party. Then on
Sunday, July 31st we will celebrate the week
through a special service. Many CCC adults, youth and
children are preparing to serve in this outreach. You,
too, can help reach others with Christ’s love. One
great way to experience the excitement is through the
Friday night Block Party. We want lots of CCC folks
rubbing shoulders with the neighborhood parents. So,
pick a club and join the fun! More information about
service opportunities are listed later in this
newsletter.
FAMILY FORUM – JULY 6 - 7:00pm
You’ve heard me say it many times before, but I’ll say it
again, “People are not up on what they’re not in on.”
It’s true isn’t it? It’s hard to get excited are be
committed to certain things if we don’t really know what
they are and why we’re doing them. I know the pace of
life is crazy and we don’t need “another” thing on our
already busy schedule. However, “being one in spirit
and purpose” demands time and attention.
We have established a FAMILY FORUM night each month as a time
to talk and pray about future direction and key
decisions for our church family. Don’t underestimate
the value of your presence and participation. God uses
every member in making us the church He wants us to be.
I look hope to see you next Wednesday, July 6, at the
FORUM.

Summer ABC - The Pentateuch |
|
|
For 10 weeks, through August 21, we will
strengthen the foundation of our lives with foundational
truths of The Pentateuch (the first 5 books of the
Bible). Walk Through the Bible Ministries has produced
a video series with Bruce Wilkinson guiding us through
this study. Each class will consist of time for video
viewing followed with a time of discussion and
application. So, get ready and let’s take a walk
through the Pentateuch together.
Jim Munsell will serve as class leader and facilitator
for this series. Lin Acuff, Cliff Hobbs and/or Doug
Bailey will serve as substitute facilitators on the
weeks Jim takes “a well deserved” vacation.

World Changers - Thank
you |
|
|
Recently, a group of
college-aged students from an organization called World
Changers, part of North American Mission Board, used
Crosspointe's facilities to run a "mock set-up" of their
event. They spent the night and practiced setting
up all of their equipment. Here is a note of
appreciation that we received recently:
Crosspointe,
Thank you so much for
welcoming us into your church. Mock set up went so
smoothly, and so much of that is because of your church
and amazing staff! We want to wish your ministry
the best of luck & pray that God will continue to do
amazing things through you to reach others.
Thanks again!

July 4th Water Outreach |
|
|
Join us for a quick and fun opportunity to let our
community know that we love them! During the July 4th
fireworks celebration, we will distribute over 2000
bottles of water around the intersection at Crossville
and Woodstock roads. We will meet at Crosspointe at
6:15pm to load up the water in vehicles and stake out
our locations near Kohl’s, Burger King, Pike’s, and
Publix. If you would like to be involved on that day or
otherwise (helping to pickup water from Sam’s), then
please contact Scott Feldman
(sbfeldma@samford.edu). |

BackYard Bible Clubs
(BYBC) |
| |
We have completed our second week of training, and our
volunteers are excited! We still have room, however, for
games leaders, song leaders, puppeteers and
storytellers. No experience is necessary, and this is a
wonderful opportunity to be stretched and try something
new. Contact Scott Feldman for more details (sbfeldma@samford.edu).
Get in the Race - Join
the Pit Crew!
God has blessed us with the opportunity to reach out to
three communities this July 25-29 through our Backyard

come together for one week of common purpose,
activities, and fun! Presently we are in great need of
adult volunteers who can help in the following areas:
-
Games
-
Music
-
Crafts
-
Puppets
-

This year's theme is In the Race. If you would
like to be a part of the Pit Crew for Backyard Bible
Clubs, then please contact Scott Feldman by email (scott@crosspointeonline.org)
or at the church office (770-640-9959). Let him know as
well if you would like to help but are unable to be
present at a club during July 25-29. Training and

Congratulations to Cam
Chatham, who recently passed his Board of Review to

rank in Boy Scouts. Cam completed numerous
merit badges, designed and facilitated a substantial
community service project, and served his troop in
various leadership capacities as evidence of his
personal growth and responsibility in keeping with the
Scouting ideals. Only four percent of all Boy Scouts
