The movie, “The
Passion of the Christ”, is being used by God to “rock our
culture”. Mel Gibson has experienced tremendous criticism,
rejection and personal sacrifice throughout the making and
promotion of this film. However, nothing could stop him because
he was sure this was something God wanted him to do.
In January, I
shared the dream God put in the elders minds and hearts.
Fulfilling this dream will require a “whatever it takes” attitude,
two priorities and four commitments in 2004.
2004
PRIORITIES:
1) FELLOWSHIP
– To grow CLOSER as a church family through DOING LIFE TOGETHER
and,
2) EVANGELISM
– To grow LARGER as a church family through sharing JESUS CHRIST
Acts 2:41-47
records the biblical pattern:
-
God
worked (41) and the people in the CROWD were convicted and
converted…
-
The
people respond (42) by trusting God and COMMITTING to
essential practices…
-
God
worked (43/44) and the people in the CONGREGATION were
captivated and changed…
-
The
people respond (45-47a) by committing to celebrate, share,
care, eat, and praise TOGETHER…
-
God
worked (47b) and the COMMUNITY was compelled, convinced and
connected to the CHURCH.
The gospel of John
reminds us that God is always working. The key to fulfilling our
God-given priorities in 2004 will be found in our response.
God has been faithful in making His plans known. Our response
will be in trust and commitment.
2004
COMMITMENTS:
-
…EVERY MEMBER
COMMIT TO BELONG TO A LIFE GROUP
-
…EVERY LIFE GROUP
COMMIT TO THE ESSENTIALS FOR GODLY CHANGE
-
Word of God
-
Unity of Believers
-
Celebrating Christ
-
Prayer
-
…EVERY ELDER,
STAFF & LG LEADER COMMIT TO COMPLETING CLASS 401 (NEW!)
-
…EVERY MEMBER TO
COMMIT TO BEING A T.E.A.M.E.R. (Together Evangelizing All My
Entrusted Relationships)
Take a moment to
see how you’re doing with each of these commitments. Also, take
time to pray that God will grow you closer to the family at CCC.
Pray for an opportunity today to share Christ’s passion with a
friend or coworker.
Passionately His,
Mike

CURRENT SERMON SERIES:
"Growing Up Gracefully"
A team-taught series on discipleship
Truth to Build Your Life On, February 22
The Bible is far more than a doctrinal guidebook.
God’s Word generates life, creates faith, produces
change, heals hurts, builds character, guarantees our
future forever and much more. This message will
challenge you to prioritize God’s Word and make it a
practical part of your day-to-day life.
Power Within, February 29
Have you ever tried to lose weight and keep it off?
How about break a bad habit or sin? If you’ve tried
and failed, you know firsthand that your own
initiative and self-control are all too often
inadequate. If you desire to grow in your faith, you
must look for strength greater than yourself. Today,
we’ll explore the role of the Holy Spirit in our faith
journey.
Learning to Listen, March 7
Jesus frequently left the busy-ness of life and
ministry to be alone and pray. We are challenged by
his example to intentionally spend time in dialogue
with God in prayer. Unfortunately, many of us spend
more time talking than listening. This day is set
aside to help you cultivate dialogue with God.
Graceful Giving, March 14
Biblical stewardship is perhaps one of the most
mishandled and misunderstood principles in the church
today. This message will present the principles,
privilege and responsibility associated with graceful
giving.
The Perfect Pace, March 21
What’s your pace quotient? Do you need to slow down?
Gandhi is reported to have said, “There is more to
life than increasing its speed.” Today, many are
paying the high cost of a life of “speed”. This
message will focus on the invitation of Jesus for us
to learn from Him in the search of a healthy pace.

Life Groups
Connect
Care
Change
Q. What
exactly is a Life Group?
A. Life Groups are small groups of believers
and/or seekers, sometimes called cell groups or house
churches. They are modeled after the first century church in
Acts 2 and provide the structure through which Crosspointe
accomplishes Jesus’ command to make disciples and reach our
community.
Q. Where do Life
Groups meet?
A. Life Groups meet primarily in homes
throughout the North Fulton area. Homes are the most
intimate and conducive environments for groups to flourish.
Groups also meet in coffee houses, restaurants and at the
church.

Cans for Christ
– Tell your family, tell you friends, tell your
neighbors – “WE’RE COLLECTING SODA CANS!” in an
effort to raise money for missions and to continue
to raise the awareness of our children to the fact
that by the power of God working through them
they can make a difference in this world.
**** Last season our Caps for Christ campaign
brought in over 300 caps for the children of
Soshanguve, South Africa. But more importantly an
entire family became Christians because of 1 cap.
**** Suggestions for can collecting – A.) Have your
child ask family, friends, and neighbors to help
with the collecting. B.) Establish a specific time
each week for your child to go pick up their cans (ie.
every Saturday morning). C.) Bring their cans to
The Corner each Sunday and put them in our special
“Cans for Christ” garbage cans.
Start
collecting today!
Our goal is 1,000 cans per week & 10,000 cans in 10
weeks. (25 children each bringing in 40 cans
per week) BRING YOUR CANS TO THE CORNER!

The Pointe
What a great last month we have had in the
POINTE. God has really blessed us tremendously. We launched our
Sunday night program “The Revolution”, had a great concert by
Daniel and Bonnie, and an awesome Winter Retreat. Our winter
retreat was at Awanita Valley Retreat Center in South Carolina.
Our group grew closer together through football, playing cards,
the ropes course, and hummer rides. Most of all I saw students
challenged to go deeper in their faith. I believe our students
are ready to go the the X-Treme in their walk with God. Check out
what is happening over the next month at the POINTE.
