PASSIONATE ABOUT YOU!

God EXPRESSED His love on the cross…God EXTENDED His love through the resurrection.

The Bible tells us that God is the perfect Father.  As our perfect Father, God loves us perfectly.

My point?  Today, everybody BENEFITS from God’s perfect love, but not everybody RECEIVES His love. There’s an eternal difference!  God’s desire is that the benefits of the love He expressed and extended will lead each of us to personally RECEIVE His love.  I’m afraid many people have settled for “just the benefits” without taking the next step – to personally receive His Life and Love into their lives.  What about you?

There’s even more.  I’ve discovered that after receiving His love, God wants us to go further.  Let me explain.  I’ve been a Christian for 40 years.  In other words, I became a personal recipient of God’s love 40 years ago when I RECEIVED Jesus in my life.  However, it’s only been in the last 7 years that I’ve learned (and continue to learn) to REST in His love.  And let me tell you there is a tremendous difference.  Resting in God’s love is awesome.  What about it?  Are you enjoying the joy and freedom of resting in Him and His love?

Take a look at the verse below.  This is what I will be praying for you over the next few weeks:

“May your roots go down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love.  And may you have the power to understand, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is.  May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it. Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”   Ephesians 3:17-19 (NLT)

 Amazed by His love,

Mike

“Essential in the Life Development Process”

Crosspointe’s Core Classes are essential springboards in the Life Development Process.  The goal of the Core Classes is to equip each member of Crosspointe with the tools to become fully devoted followers of Christ.  These classes are key to that equipping process.  If you are brand new to Crosspointe or a seasoned veteran, I encourage you to take the next step in the Core Class Process.

Class 101 The Heart of Membership

Class 201 The Heart of Maturity

Class 301 The Heart of Ministry

May 16 & May 23

Click here for more info on the Core Classes and to register.

*Each Class meets for two consecutive Sundays immediately following the worship service in Suite 310.  Lunch is provided, childcare is not.  Classes conclude by 2:30PM.

For long time Crosspointe members, revisiting the four habits of a healthy Christian walk in Class 201 or rediscovering your SHAPE for ministry in Class 301 is necessary on occasion to revitalize your walk and remind you that God’s not through with you yet.

FREEZE!  HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!

May 30th is…

Family Fun Day

Join the Crosspointe family for our annual picnic on Memorial Day weekend.  Immediately following the worship service we’ll meet at Waller Park Extension off Oxbo Drive for a potluck picnic.  We’ll provide the chicken, BBQ, and drinks; you bring the sides and desserts!  Bring enough to feed your family and we’ll have plenty to go around!  Pack a lawn chair, blanket, Frisbee and skateboards/roller blades for the kids. Jot down on the info card at church what you’ll be bringing so we can make sure we don’t have 2000 pounds of baked beans and no apple pie!

*Maps available at the info table at church

Congratulations!

Two Crosspointe staff members have recently become engaged!  They are Mindy McBride to Kelly Wilson and Adam Feldman to Kim Price. As a church family, we celebrate with them and extend our heartfelt congratulations!

This Month's

"Hidden Hero"

Have you been enjoying the beautiful flowers around the building?  Doesn't it make it feel just a little more like Spring?  If you have appreciated their beauty, be sure you show your appreciation to the One who  created them, but also to the one who planted them for us.  Give a big "thank you" to Tom Twomey for helping to spruce up the front of the building with his amazing landscaping gifts and abilities!

Thanks, Tom! They're beautiful!

What’s UP at

The Pointe

Can you believe that another school year is coming to an end?  Just to think at the beginning of this school year I was in North Carolina and now I am here in the great state of Georgia.  I want to take this time to congratulate our graduates in 2004.  Michael Deese, Richard Lee,  Ian Twomey, Caroline Bagwell, Julia Alligood, and Ashley Bagwell are all graduating from high school.  The “Scotts”, Scott Bagwell & Scott Feldman are graduating from college.  What an exciting time in each of these student’s lives.  I want to wish each of them the best and pray that each of them continue to follow God’s plan for their lives.  As a church you can help celebrate their graduation on Sunday May 23rd as we honor our graduates during the morning worship service.
