CELEBRATING – DISCOVERING -
LIVING
GERRY & ANNA ROGERS – I want
to express my thankfulness to Gerry and Anna for their
ministry to our students over the last one and a half
years. Although Gerry will no longer serve on our staff
he and Anna will continue to serve God and our church
family. Gerry and Anna are entering a new season of
re-discovery in their lives and ministry. Make sure you
let them know of your prayers and support as we continue
to “do life together” with them at CCC.
STUDENT MINISTRY – I am
really excited about the team of leaders that God has
blessed us with for this summer.
Scott Feldman will serve as the Interim
Director of Student Ministries. He will be responsible
for over seeing and coordinating the summer plans and
programs for high school and middle school students.
Kathryn Lantz will serve as a Summer
Youth Intern. Her role is to help assimilate youth into
the student ministry by identifying with them, training
and mentoring.
Scott & Kathryn will serve with our
adult leaders of the Student Ministry over the summer.
Get ready! This summer is going to
be a blast for our students!
ELLICOTT CITY – CHURCH PLANT
– I am very excited about what God is doing through CCC
in this area of ministry. On Sunday, April 10th
we voted unanimously to support Adam and the Ellicott
City church plant (with our prayers, finances and other
resources). Did you know that only 2% of all Southern
Baptist Churches have ever been involved (or are
currently involved) in planting a church? This should
not be a point of pride for us…rather a reminder and
mandate to reach the lost. Be sure and check out the
article below for an update on our Ellicott City church
plant.
JAMMING WITH JIM – On
Sunday, May 1st we will have the opportunity
to affirm Jim Durand as our new Director of Music. It
has become clear that over the last couple of years God
has been growing and preparing Jim for this role. Be
sure to keep Jim and the worship team in your prayers as
he prepares to transition into this place of service.
MARSHA ON THE MOVE – I want
to thank Marsha Feldman for serving on our support staff
over the last 5 years. This month Marsha will be
resigning from her position as Receptionist & Facilities
Ministry Assistant. During her time on staff she has
functioned in many roles…always with a smile and
servant’s heart. Even though Marsha will no longer be
on our staff team you will still find her heavily
involved in service and ministry. Marsha will be
devoting a large part of her time helping to develop and
coordinate our volunteer’s in ministry.
“LIVING IT” THIS SUMMER –
The summer months are usually a logistical struggle for
the Deese household. Without the routine of the school
schedule many things clamor for our attention. We will
have to be intentional not to become distracted from our
commitment to keep on LIVING IT personally and
corporately. Here’s a few ways you can keep LIVING IT
this summer:
ü
CONTINUED ATTENDANCE AT WORSHIP & GROUP
MEETINGS
ü
JULY 4th & BYBC OUTREACH
ü
INVITE, INCLUDE & INTRODUCE – You will rub
shoulders with many people over the course of the
summer. So, while you’re at the park, game or pool
invite, include and introduce. Invite them to CCC.
Include them in one of your “summer fun” activities.
Introduce them to Christ and the good news he is and has
for them.
LIVING IT,
Mike

capacity, but its sending capacity."

MONTH OF MAY “ABC”: |
|
|
JONAH
(Minor
Prophet)
Discover
"How" God's Sovereignty worked in Jonah's life to
understand how He may be working in your life. God's
sovereignty displayed in Jonah's life was to show His
mercy and grace to Jonah, to co-workers on the ship and
to the terrible and awesome Assyrians in Nineveh. Could
He be working in your life?
Join Jim
Munsell on Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM on the third
floor.
FYI:
(Did you
know Nineveh is modern Mosul, Iraq?)

|
|
City Youth Prayer Rally:
Wednesday May 4 at 7pm Sign up in the Pointe or on the
information card in Sunday's Bulletin.
Prayerwalk: Why should we participate in the
National Day of Prayer? We are compelled to pray

world have no human solution. On May 5th,
there will be millions of people of faith gathering in
prayer across our nation. Join those in Roswell for the
4th Annual NDP Prayerwalk. Worship begins at
10:00am at the Roswell United Methodist Church chapel.
Prayerwalk follows where we will pray specifically for
our government, schools, military, etc. Cookout
afterwards at the RUMC Dod Center.
***
This year Crosspointe will be manning the Business
District Prayer Station. Please notify the office if
you will be participating.
ALSO:
Atlanta Global Day of Prayer event will be held at the
Philips Arena on Sunday, May 15 from 3pm to 6pm.
Admission is free, but tickets are required for entry.

Metanoia Church Plant Update: |
|
|
What an exciting month! God is
definitely at work in preparing the way for His Church
in Ellicott City, Maryland: Metanoia Church. Here are
just a few “praises” from the past month:
Partnerships – Three
Churches have covenanted to support the Church plant. I am
currently talking with a few other Churches, so there
may be even more by the time we start planting Metanoia
in September. Our partners are: Crosspointe Community
Church (sending Church; Roswell, GA), Bethany Lane
Baptist Church (Ellicott City, MD) and Cornerstone
Community Church (Columbia, MD). All three Churches are
exceptionally different in methodology, ranging from
relatively traditional to very progressive. It is neat
to see the diverse team God is knitting together!
Financial support – All
three Churches are supporting us financially. I am also
working out a partnership with the Mid-Maryland Baptist
Association and the Baptist Convention of
Maryland/Delaware. In early May I’ll begin talking with
Crosspointe folk, friends and family about how you can
help out financially. Please begin praying about how God
may be leading you to support the plant above and beyond
your regular tithe. (FYI, by tithing to Crosspointe you
are supporting us at $12,000/year!)
Feldman Family – Two weeks
ago Kim accepted a job to teach in the area that we are
moving! In June she will have the opportunity to
determine which high school she will teach at. We
visited the area over spring break and in the process
bought a house! Pray for us as we work out the details
to close on our new home in early May.
Church Planting Team – Each
week I am receiving emails from people interested in
finding out more about Metanoia. There are people at
both Bethany Lane and Cornerstone who are praying about
their involvement in the Church plant. Likewise, there
are people at Crosspointe who are praying about moving
up to Maryland to help out. There is a biblical
precedent for sending out a team—Paul never went alone,
traveling with upwards of 30 people in his Church
planting missions. If you feel God is leading you to
step out in faith and move to Maryland with us, please
contact me.
Thank you for your continued
prayer. If you are interested in receiving a regular
update about the Church plant, please email me at:
metanoiachurch@gmail.com.
Grace and peace,
Adam

This Month's
Ministry Spotlight |
|
|
Luke Hobbs is living proof there is
no age barrier regarding ministry at Crosspointe. At our
April 16 church work day, Luke came prepared with an assortment of lawn care equipment. He lost no
time getting busy cutting the entire front embankment
and other areas that needed touch up. Luke is fourteen
years old and attends Crabapple Middle School. Since the
tender age of eight, he has had his own personal lawn
care business. Dad Cliff and Mom Jackie serve as
transportation support. Crosspointe gives Luke a big
"Thank You!" for his help in sprucing up our grounds!
