STILL “LIVING IT”
Seven months ago we
committed to God and one another to “live” Christ. God
used the words of the apostle Paul to challenge us to
aggressively pursue God’s pleasure, priorities, pace and
purposes.
“Just go ahead with
what you've been given. You received Christ Jesus, the
Master; now live him. You're deeply rooted in
him. You're well constructed upon him. You know your way
around the faith. Now do what you've been taught.
School's out; quit studying the subject and start
living it! And let your living spill over into
thanksgiving.”
Colossians 2:6-7 (MSG)
Over the last several
months you have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to
“living it” in many ways. Recently, you stepped up to
the plate in a big way at our “Wrapped Up in Ministry”
birthday party. Over 70 % listed primary and secondary
areas to minister in and through our church. That’s a
BIG “yeah God”! The staff and ministry team leaders
will be very busy during the next several weeks helping
each individual get up and going in their areas of
ministry.
You can make two specific
investments that will help us continue “living it” this
fall. First, get plugged into a Life Group. Each
Sunday, for the next two months we will spotlight a Life
Group. This will give you a better understanding of
what the make-up and focus is for the different groups.
Once you find one that peaks your interest…jump in and
give it a try.
Your nomination of two
elder candidates before October 23rd is the
second “living it” investment needed. Be sure to
prayerfully think this through and then submit your
ballot.
See you on Sunday,
Mike

Current Sermon Series:
Boundaries the Liberate |
|
|
“And God spoke
all these words: ‘I am the Lord your God…’”
Exodus 20:1-20 (NIV)
Psychologists tell us that boundaries
provide security, protection, and self-esteem. Long before
psychology, God provided ten clear boundaries to protect His people
from harm and give them the highest values ever recorded on the
earth. This fresh look at the Ten Commandments will help you
discover God's boundaries for your highest, best and most abundant
living.

This Month's Ministry Spotlight |

Mike & Becky Cowan
Do you enjoy a cup of coffee
when you get to church on Sunday morning? Has your
life been blessed by the DivorceCare ministry? Do
you enjoy the worship music on Sunday mornings? If
so, give a big thank you hug to Mike & Becky Cowan.
This couple's servant heart attitude has blessed so many
people here at Crosspointe. Becky has organized
women's outreach projects and worked behind the scenes
to make sure there is hot coffee for members and guests
on Sundays. Mike lends his musical gifts
to the praise team. Together, they facilitate the DivorceCare ministry on Tuesday nights. As some of
you may know, Mike is being transferred through his job
at the end of this year and their last Sunday with
us will be October 30th. Please don't let them get
away without telling them how much you appreciate all
they do for the Body here at Crosspointe. Mike &
Becky, we love you and will miss you greatly!
You'll always have a family here!
